Life Over Screen is a paid-download mobile app for iOS and Android that helps users protect real-life moments from distracting apps they choose.

Data Collection

Life Over Screen does not collect, transmit, sell, share, rent, or use personal data for advertising or analytics in the MVP.

The app does not include an account system, cloud backend, analytics SDK, ads SDK, or third-party tracking SDK.

Data Stored on Device

Life Over Screen stores the following data locally on the user's device:

• selected distracting app package names and labels
• protected moment session history and stats
• active session end time while a protected moment is running
• custom protected moment labels created by the user
• setup and permission preferences

This local data is used only to run the app's protection and stats features.

Android Permissions

On Android, Life Over Screen may request these permissions only for user-started protected moments:

• Usage Access: to notice when a selected distracting app opens.
• Accessibility Service: to return the user from selected distracting apps back to Life Over Screen during an active protected moment.
• Notifications: to show the active foreground monitor notification.
• Overlay permission: optional fallback interruption behavior.

The Accessibility Service is not used to read message content, passwords, payment information, typed text, or unrelated screen content. Accessibility events are checked locally against the user's selected package names.

iOS Screen Time

The current iOS build keeps the shared app shell stable. True iPhone app shielding depends on Apple Family Controls / Screen Time entitlement approval and real-device testing. If Screen Time shielding is enabled later, the privacy policy must be reviewed and updated before submission.

Sharing

Life Over Screen does not share user data with third parties in the MVP.

Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains on the device until the user deletes it, clears app data, or uninstalls the app. The Settings screen includes Delete local data, which clears local records and preferences on the device.

Security

Because the MVP does not transmit user data, there is no user data encrypted in transit. Local data is stored in the app's local storage area and is protected by the operating system's app sandbox.

Children

Life Over Screen is not designed to collect data from children. The app does not create accounts or transmit personal data.

Changes

This policy should be updated when the app's data practices, permissions, analytics, account features, cloud features, or Screen Time implementation change.
